There are many opportunities for high school athletes to compete in college at the NCAA, NAIA or Community College level. There are recruiting companies that can help with this process but they can be expensive. It is recommended to do your research before committing to a recruiting service.

NCAA
The NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) oversees college sports in the U.S., setting rules on eligibility, recruiting, and financial aid. It is organized into Divisions I, II, and III, each with specific regulations.

National Junior College Athletic Association and CA College Community College Association
The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) oversees two-year college athletics nationally, and the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) governs only California's community colleges.
